From 23 to 25 September 2013 Thomson Reuters Foundation in collaboration with Gerda Henkel Stiftung and Stanley Foundation hosted its fifth Global Security Seminar for journalists and policy experts from across the globe. The seminar took place in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Twenty journalists from countries including the US, Russia, Egypt, Israel, China, Canada, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia watched, and took part in, a series of panel discussions on topics such as the state of al Qaeda, cyber warfare, and the turmoil in the Middle East.
The three-day seminar ended with a trip to the Administrative Boundary Line with South Ossetia, where the journalists were able to investigate an ongoing security story firsthand.
In a review we present a selection of statements in form of video- and audio-interviews with some of the participants of the Global Security Seminar.
